Your website is read before it is seen. A person decides in seconds, off words. An AI deciding whether to recommend you never sees the design at all. Paste your address and I will read it back to you.
Free. No email needed. Takes about five seconds.
This is a free website copy checker. Paste any address and it reads that page the way two audiences read it: a person deciding in a few seconds whether to stay, and an AI deciding whether to recommend you to someone who asked it a question. Both of them are reading words. Neither is looking at your design.
The headline number. It counts the sentences on your page that start with “we”, “our”, or your company name. Those sentences describe what the business does. They do not tell the reader why they should care. On most small business homepages the number is above half, and it is the single fastest thing to fix.
The test counts “you” against “we” across the whole page, and it counts how many words go by before the reader is mentioned at all. On a lot of sites that number runs into the hundreds. Everything above that point is about the company.
Phrases like world-class, seamless, innovative, and solutions get flagged. The test for a cliche is simple: if a competitor could paste the sentence onto their own site without changing a word, the sentence is not doing any work.
The test checks whether the page has a headline, a description, structured data, and a short self-contained passage that states what you do. An AI answering a question about your category needs something it can lift. If the opening only makes sense with the rest of the page around it, there is nothing to quote and you do not get mentioned.
The test looks for language that names something the reader is dealing with, and language that names what they end up with. A page that does neither is a description of a company, and there is nothing in it to want. This is the heaviest thing the test marks down.
The menu is the first line of copy most people read. When it starts with About, Our Team, or Legal Team, the site is organised around the business rather than around the person who just arrived. That gets marked down.
Measured against grade eight, which is roughly where website copy converts best. Long sentences and long words make people work harder than they are willing to work on a page they did not plan to read.
It will not tell you what your business should say. A script can find the sentences pointing the wrong way, but it cannot know which promise is true about you, which one would land on the customer you actually want, or which one you can still defend a year from now. That is a judgment call, and it needs a person rather than a script.
It also will not give you a dollar figure. Any tool that tells you a headline is costing you a specific amount per month invented that number, because it has no idea what you sell or what a customer is worth to you.
